Alright, so I just went for piano exam just now. Haha. Hahaha.
Ok, so I sorta procrastinated for a WHOLE YEAR. I didn't practice scales until a week before the exam. I think I'm gonna fail really badly. Really badly.
So how is this a rant? Well. I'm ranting at myself. For being such a slacker. Such a gosh darned slacker. I only realized the significance of the piano exam this year. So I got 3 months, actually, to practice 3 pieces, and two weeks to practice scales. That just sticks of epic fail, doesn't it?
And what's the most infuriating? This is supposed to be my best grade. It's grade frickin 8. You'd think I'd be serious about it, right? But I wasn't. If you get a distinction you get to perform in a concert with other distinction students and you get $$$. And the worst part is, I got ONE AND A HALF YEARS TO PRACTICE BUT I JUST WASTED IT ALL AWAY UNTIL IT WAS TOO LATE.
Sorry, I'm in a really low mood today, and I feel like hitting something so bad.
cheers

well, to make you feel better, i had the same problem. i was supposed to have my grade 6 exam two years ago. but, my family had to go to vacation and i had to skip. of course, i didn't do it the year afterwords. this year i did it. I didn't practice the scales at all. i had two years. and i got a 68. 8 marks to failing. i thought i'd do well, but i totally messed up at the exam for my scales and my memorizing failed. the only reason i didn't practice was cuz i didn't even care, so i thought i wouldn't be nervous at all. bu i was wrong. see? you'll probably pass, and not fail. you'll do fine.

Woah. @.@ If that let you pass... Lawl! But there were other factors. In sight reading I completely left out some of the left hand parts because they were big chords and for the second half I didn't observe the dynamics. And for my BAROQUE piece I broke down thrice (Sure ingredients for failure) because my fingers were all twisted and I was really nervous (It was a fugue). For my third romantic piece, I MESSED UP THE RIGHT HAND FOR THE MOST EMOTIONAL PART OF THE SONG LOL And my left hand kinda stalled and things... And for aural she was like, "What's the cadence?" So I was like,"1C 5" and she was like,"No, imperfect or plagal or perfect cadence" then I was "OH CRAP SORRY IMPERFECT CADENCE" and I actually had the nerve to ask her to replay the key chord when asked to identify cuz I forgot which key it was in!!! -hyperventilates- Ok, actually, after spewing that all out, I kinda feel better... Well I have a theory exam coming up... So I guess it would help But today's practice paper was a bit of another epic failure... It's such a fail of epic proportions that you'll only comprehend its magnitude by seeing it for yourself. Lol. It was so epic that my teacher stated that he had never seen such a stupid mistake in his life.

Wtf, why does everyone play the piano here? I took a guitar class in the 8th grade, and that's about it.
