Wtf, why does everyone play the piano here? I took a guitar class in the 8th grade, and that's about it. Asians? Oh, I thought that was the violin. Maybe both? D: I guess playing the piano would be fun though. It's one of the most proficient instruments and establishes authority like the tuba.

Wtf, why does everyone play the piano here? I took a guitar class in the 8th grade, and that's about it. Mom forced me, actually. She saw that I was too hyperactive and thought that piano would help me fergad'ssakez SIT STILLL. Lol. @_@ ... I feel so fortunate. Frankly, I cannot for blanket's sake figure out how you people play saxophone and get it to sound something more than a very crappy trumpet... >.> I tried it, once. My mom was screaming. Yep, it's pretty versatile and you can play so many parts at once yeppers. But there are some parts of its sound I don't quite like... Ahh. If I had a piano that can alternate between bowing the notes and using hammer action, I'd die in peace. Speaking of which, I believe Leonardo da Vinci designed one, lol. Grade 7. But frankly I find it easier than Grade 6 since its questions are more reared on musicality than answering questions like "WHAT IZ PICARDY 3RD?!". Lol why did you quit? It gets fun in later stages

well, i went through the same thing that happened when i played violin two years ago. (I got to lvl 5/6 before i quit that one.) It really started to get boring and i never practiced..and then i complained..and then i quit. didn't really seem like there would be a point.

I played violin for lezee....about 6-7 years now. Yeah, it is kinda 'boring' at times, but at our school....our orchestra gets to go to field trips.. TO DISNEYLAND! If they let us. AND SOMEOTHERAMUSEMENTPARKINWHICHNONEOFYOUGUYSKNOWABOUTUNLESSYOULIVEINTHEWESTCOAST! Oh and band gets to go everywhere. Every four years they go to Florida. And just recently they went to Phoenix. Damn band geeks. I was gonna join band, (played trumpet 4 years) but I didn't wanna play band until senior year to go to Florida. Maybe I'll just join my senior year. lulululul

The only Six Flags clan member we got here is La Ronde. It's on a man-made island.

I am 13 and I did my grade 8 at 11 (10 days before turning 12 ) with an A+. Im not stating my age for reputation or something, just for reference. I did my amus exam on wednesday and i failed. I had John O'Donnell and another man(forgot his name). Anyways, they said that I played my bach prelude understated tonally. My fugue-clear attention to voicing but in the process much was cast so far into the background that it ceased to take an active part in the conversation
Beethoven sonata- mvt 1-Tempo too brisk to achieve satisfactory tonal control. mvt 2- Last variation ran away and was out of control. mvt 3- No uniformity of tempo at all, difficult to feel any sense of unity in the movement.
Rachmaninoff prelude was the only section with no negative comments though I did forget a bar but continued onto the next without stopping much.
Liszt - Clear concept of the nature and exploration of many fine colours. Playing could have been more spacious but was instead impatient, and issues of tonal control.
Debussy- (blah blah) although there was occasional loss of detail through inadequate tonal control.
General knowledge, they asked questions like, did beethoven write any other sonatas(or was it concerti) in the key of your sonata, G major? and I couldnt answer because I have read a website listing some criteria and I followed those. So they commented that more detailed knowledge is expected at this level but with evidence of some preparation. They didnt bother to ask me anything about the composers' life because by that point, even I knew I had stuffed it. The sonata was bad, and the piano, although was steinway, had issues, because I found that when I presseed the soft pedal, the notes, sometimes, would sound as if the sustain pedal had been pushed slightly. Also, the touch of the keys were, I guess, thin and tight, so it was very hard to play soft.
Anyways, in general, they commented, a secure program performed by memory and usually a clear sense of style particularly in the later pieces but the playing was simply too light (though that might have been something to do with my size, haha, im very small) and that a few notes were not heard at all. Also, the Beethoven, in 2 movements, had unsteady tempo.
I mean, I knew I was probably fail.
I am going to try again, I dont know when. Havent seen my teacher yet.
I realised that I played bad, but could my fail had something to do with the quota? There were 4 others doing Amus that day, and most of them seemed at least 15.
Sorry for such a long message, and I dont even know what I expect people to reply with.
But I guess I just wanted to rant:)
