Hidden World
Chapter 1[/center]
They were supposed to be watching the men in the trucks below, but Lucas and Olivia were too busy seeing how many cans they could knock down with their spit. The two had been best friends every since Lucas’ dad had bitten them both at a restaurant some of their friends invited them to.
Olivia laughed as Lucas got his spit to knock over one of the cans, nearly falling onto the street below. Oh how he loved her. Her bright face, beautiful lips and bright blue eyes. She wore simple clothes, jeans with rips in them, raven black t-shirt that just covered her belly, and a toque over her golden brown hair. You could never guess by her appearance that she was a murderer, even less a vampire.
The two always went with each other, no matter the mission that Avignon or another commander gave them, they were inseparable. Olivia spat, nearly knocking the can onto the street below.
“Careful, those fur balls could be down there.” the vampires loved calling the werewolves names. Almost daily there were fights in the clan to see who was the best at making fun of the stinking fluff brains.
Olivia smiled her devilish smile, the one that got every boy on their knees. Oh how he loved her.
“What are you two DOING?!” a voice screamed at them. They both twirled around to see their captain, Bruce. What a sly devil he was. Bruce was the vampire that knew everything that was going on, and wherever it was, he was also. It was said he was one of the 3 owners of a V-Star 950, the fastest flying motorcycle ever created.
“I won’t ask again, lovebirds.” Lucas was snapped out of his thoughts.
“We were… uhh…” he had always been the worst liar.
“We were watching the trucks. Aren’t you supposed to be below, Bruce?” Hearing her voice soothed his nerves.
“Watch is, Olivia. Stay here, and keep alert. No more funny business.” He walked away, turning once to look at the two, then jumped away.
“Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it. You should really learn how to tell a lie, I’m getting tired of saving your skin.” The two both shared a laughed. Olivia stopped short. I stopped and looked at her, she looked like she was listening for something. Then I heard it. A blood-curdling scream that came from the street below us.
Immediately the two ran to the edge of the building. A red 2009 Express was driving down the road at full speed. The driver was screaming something about the brakes being broken. Lucas and Olivia looked at each other, and both of them saw what they were to do in each other’s eyes.
At once they both jumped off the edge and landed on the ground 50 feet below, without breaking a sweat. Olivia ran straight at the 2009 Express while Lucas ran up beside it. Olivia reached into the seat. The man was strapped onto the seat by his seatbelt, which had stuck. She cursed, and lowered her mouth, and bit the seatbelt in half. She grabbed the closest thing to her hand, which was unfortunately between the man’s legs, and yanked him out of the van.
She landed on the sidewalk, and he landed on her. Lucas ran passed them, running up beside the van. A young group of teenagers walked up onto the street at the far end, nearly 20 feet away from Lucas and the van. Lucas did a slide-jump and landed right in front of the teenagers, right when the van hit. With the teens screams ringing in his ears, he shot out his shoulder, and hit it directly on.
There was a loud thud as they collided. He felt no pain, just the shock of the teenagers behind him. He turned and looked. Six stunned faces looked back at him, four girls and two boys. They looked no older than Lucas and Olivia. In the blink of an eye, Lucas jumped over their heads and scaled the building. Olivia was waiting for him at the top.
“What a stupid thing to do!! You could have exposed us!!” Olivia started screaming and scolding him as they walked back along the roofs, but Lucas never heard her. His thoughts were back to the six teenagers, to one of them in particular. The girl that had been closest to him. What had he seen in her eyes? Fear? Hate? Shock? Or had that look been one of… love?
What was this? Bold was sitting in the Hotel Grande’s central room, with his warriors, having a victory feast. His eyes had wandered from the drinking ladies and men, to the television that hung from the ceiling. On it was displayed a woman, who looked as though she was describing something on the screen beside her.
On the screen to her left was a blue van that looked as though it had smashed into a train. Though it was in the middle of a suburban street, miles from the nearest railroad tracks. Wait a second… That was the same street they had fought on, just hours earlier!
“QUIET!!” Bold shouted at the to of his lungs. His deep voice bounded off the walls. The entire room was covered in complete silence, everybody staring at Bold.
“Turn that TV up!” he said, pointing at the TV. The woman’s voice now could be heard through the whole room.
“Reports have come in about some kind of… superman and superwoman. Resources say that a young man and woman appeared on the street as a red 2009 Express lost it’s brakes and sped down the street at full speed, the driver still in it. They say the young woman grabbed the man and BIT his seatbelt to let him free, then yanked the driver out.
The young boy then ran past the van, while a group of teenagers walked onto the street. The young man DOVE straight for them, landed and then was said to have shouldered the van just as it came within two feet of them. The van was crushed, but the boy then jumped over the teenagers and scaled the side of a building. One of the teenagers that witnessed this event has this to say:”
It cut to a scene where a young girl in her teens was standing with the van behind her.
“It was the scariest moment of my life. One minute me and my friends walked onto the street, the next a van is driving towards us at full speed, and then in the blink of an eye, a boy no older than me and my friends puts his shoulder out and stops the van dead in it’s tracks. Then when he turned around…”
The girl shuddered.
“It was though he wasn’t human. I saw hate and fear, but I also saw love, and compassion.”
It cut back to the news reporter.
“Well, what does the police have to say about this phenomenon?”
A gruff voice that sounded as though he had had a throat sore for years cut in.
“The police can neither confirm nor deny the presence of a super… hero. We will not say anything more on this subject”
The woman started talking again. A clip was shown that was said to have been from an old woman’s camera. It showed a blurry boy and girl about nineteen doing what the reporter had said happened.
The room was quiet. All eyes were on Bold. For what seemed like an eternity, he looked at every single on of his warriors in the eyes.
“Boys, I think we’ve found ourselves some bloodsuckers!”
They must eradicate the foolish vampires, they had begun to show themselves to much, and that was not allowed. After all, their world, was a hidden world.
