Do you think homework can cause enough stress to cause psychological damage to a child/teenager/person?
Do you think homework can cause depression or a case of lowered self-esteem?

Not for me, but probably for the dumb kids in my school.

I dunno about that.
I'm smart, but I have psychological issues every now an' then.
Usually if I see numbers for an extended period of time.

Oh, it definitely can. I'm about as smart as they come, but I've had 4-5 hours of homework a night last year, and it's only going to get worse last year. There's times where you're so full of stress you honestly feel like screwing everything and sleeping for a month and other times where you honestly think you're having a nervous breakdown. Of course, it's never just the homework alone, but all the other responsibilities you have combined with it.

The DoE should consider removing homework from the educational system. Frankly, more and more kids are beginning to dislike homework, and it doesn't help esteem very much.
Consider this:
If you score high, the other kids will hate you.
If you score low, your parents will hate you.
If you score that slight above failure, you hate yourself for doing a bad job.
In all, the current system is a vacuum.

I only dislike homework if I find that particular assignment pointless. Otherwise, I recognize it is a necessary part of my education and grudgingly accept it.

As much as I hate homework, most of it is entirely necessary. Repetition is essential for understanding complex concepts. In most classes, you can't cover all of the curriculum in-class, so work outside of class is necessary.

I usually don't remember much at all about what I learned But when we're actually learning the subject it's easy Lol, I'm not really a person who remembers random trivia or stuff that I learned a long time ago So, to me homework is pointless because I won't remember it anyway It's probably more stressful if you let it lay around though. So, it's best to finish early.
