Okay, so I just watched a commercial about baking soda toothpaste or something, and the f**kers said that it gets rid of 88% more plaque than the leading toothpaste brand. Well, I'm pretty sure the actual leading toothpaste brand said the exact same thing! If these bastards are right about their product removing xx% more plaque than other leading brands, wouldn't their percentages of plaque-removal be really fricking high?
Okay, let's change the product to air fresheners since I know more brands (same concept though). Let's say Oust says they remove 99.9% of bacteria in the air. Then let's say Glade says it removes 90% more bacteria than Oust; then Febreeze says it removes 100% more bacteria than Oust! It's gonna get to the point where these blasphemous products will be expected to eliminate every single bacteria in the world because their numbers are getting so high. DON'T HUFF.
I know what they're doing, but, man, w/e smells the best I guess. That or whoever has the coolest container, which is probably Febreeze. If you want facts on how much bacteria they waste, you might have to rely on dorky tests by dumbs*** schools that post their bullcrap information and it ends up on Yahoo somehow. "New tests from Assholes Academics say air fresheners can give you cancer!"
So, yeah, a dumb rant that I wanted to get out there. Stuff pisses me off easily in real life. I think I'm one of those implosive guys that builds stuff in then just explodes sooner or later.

Yeah... I know...
Also, the whole "We'll beat any competitor's price by 10% or your <whatever it is> is free" thing...

You know, the only person I'd buy stuff from is Billy Mayes. He can say anything about OxiClean "dealing xx% more damage than the leading competitor", and I'll buy it.
Also, I'd buy stuff from that one chef that was advertising for his smart lids. Like, the ones you put on stuff, press down on, and it vacuum seals your food. Those lids look kickass.

Baking soda toothpaste is really inane. Too much baking soda and it wears away the enamel on your teeth, too little and it's regular toothpaste. You're basically paying for regular toothpaste with a pinch of baking soda.
I usually compare ingredients and buy generic. If you look at the active ingredients it's pretty much the same product.
Our economy is completely based on trust:what brands do you trust, what company, which people, what ads. It goes right down to our currency, you trust that the green slips of paper people hand you are of equal value to what you exchange. Unfortunately, at this point, our economy is doing so poorly that it costs more to make a penny than a penny is worth.

Yeah. Antibacterials only contribute to survival of the fittest, as they only kill "99.9%" of germs ._.;;

And then the leftover 0.1% will multiply and take over the world.

And then the leftover 0.1% will multiply and take over the world. Mhm, and this is the problem with -cides of any kind. They leave the strongest, and thus entire species become resistant to them and even harder to control. A better option is to use natural enemies to combat them. Some are trying to bioengineer plants with natural defenses similar to pesticides. Plants will never overkill in terms of mass genocide of pests, so it's also feasible. Hey, look, I DO remember stuff from the last school year.

Interesting. I never really payed that much attention to the leading brand crap until now. It's funny how they call it leading brand; to some it may sound like leading brand is in the lead somehow, like it's better than the brand being advertised!

Leading brand is so ambiguous it could be anything. 88% more than has several ways to be read. It's all semantics and crap. Manipulation ftl.
