How is a fact irrelivant? I said two things, yet you claim I only said one. That's not irrelivant, that's ignorance, which you should know a lot about since you mention it so often. I think it makes sense to point out what I really said instead of your self-serving twist on what you think I said.
You don't have the patience for "s*** talking" with me, yet here you are doing exactly that?
And even I acknowledged that this argument was a waste of time from the beginning, but I continued with it because the claims made against me were misguided, and it is my job to explain myself when someone brings up concerns like that. These are the most extrordinarily ridiculous, blown out of proportion accusations that I've seen since the Palin-on-a-noose ad nauseum on TV. People couldn't take a joke and blew a simple display of humor out of proportion.
I don't "think" that my place in this community is for being a ranting, raving bigot. It just happens to be something that I do often without catching myself on, before I do it-- I'm very impulsive. I speak openly because I'm not afraid to say what is on my mind, and I'm prepared to explain it as well if needed. If I'm proven wrong, so be it. If I'm proven right, so be it. I don't "try" to be anything.
Calling me sheltered is idiotic, because all of us here have a pretty generous ammount of anonymity. You don't know me in real life, you don't see how I go about my day, and you don't know my experience just like I don't know yours. None of us truly know each other, we just happen to be connected in a few ways. To assume that I'm sheltered is just going off the tracks and right into another ad hominem ditch.
You say that I am lacking key elements, but it seems more like you are the one lacking them. You proved this when you resorted to ad hominem on the claims you still had disagreements with, while turning a blind eye the rest when I provided a counter argument that apparently you couldn't repute. Look at the progress (or rather lack of progress) you have made in each of your posts. Your argument is going stale, so you abandon it with excuses like "my motherboard fried and it really is a waste of time talking to someone who LOVES to take s*** personally" (which is such a hypocritical excuse since you have taken my entire argument personally from the get-go).
And, again, I apologize for my "big words", I assure you they aren't rehearsed. I'm an illustration major who loves to write out my stories before I draw them. As it turns out, I do a lot of writing, and Roget's thesaurus is on my lap when I do. So I'm sorry that I like to learn new words and phrases to expand my vocabulary.
And political correctness does kill jokes. The point of political correctness was an expansion of vocabulary which allowed negative words to be altered into something positive, to avoid hurting feelings. Nowdays it is taken to absurd extremes, and a lot of people to whom those negative terms applied to now use it amongst themselves, which renderes the politicaly correct term a sugar-coated feel-good pointless joke. Common sense is what tells a good joke from a fallout, not political correctness.
And yes, Carlin did rant. Obviously he is a famous comedian and I am just a common nineteen-year-old on an internet forum for a reason. Carlin's rants were the rants of a natural comedian who lived and breathed what he did, with much more maturity and experience with his topics, given his age. I wasn't placing myself on the same level as Carlin, I was saying that we express ourselves in a similar manner. And obviously the levels on which we express are very very different, given the many factors involved.
Stop claiming that you haven't taken anything personally. You obviously have, or else you wouldn't have bothered to comment at all on this thread. You took it upon yourself to start this argument in your first post, and you wouldn't have done that at all if you hadn't taken the content personally.
When did I expect anyone to laugh at my rant? That's not my decision to make for them. If they can't relate to it, of course they will not find it funny. Rants are a very personal experience for the one writing them, since it is a self-satisfying release of emotion to begin with. And I'm pretty sure that I understand what a rant is. I have been giving them for years. Complaining is how people vent their frustrations. You don't have to listen to them, no one said you had to. You just chose to.
"Call attention to my position?"...what position? When have I insinuated that I'm better than anyone else here? You keep assuming that I think these things, and my only explanation is that you're just pulling them out of your ass because you're getting closer to the corner.
And there you are again, still singling out sarcasm, when I have already explained twice that exaggeration and sarcasm are not the same. Wow.
Tschüss, Dayna.
And Cheeze, thank you. I agree with you completely.

Ya know what? You're right. You're completely entitled to your rant. You have every right to have posted this. After some thought (and the motherboard thing wasn't an excuse, I left my laptop on my pillow and the fans were blocked), I do think it was wrong of me to make such accusations in my initial reply. Let me reword it: You might want to reconsider your use of terms. However, I do think it's a bit sad that every argument you have, you seem to want to direct attention to the fact that you create conflict. Although the conflict was partly at my own fault (there's one thing I hate more than ignorance, it's the denial of ignorance-ignorance in this instance refering to the fact that you think "communist faggot" doesn't offend, even if used in a sarcastic or exaggerated manner), you're pretty much passive agressively trying to make it look like you're a victim. I mean that honestly and I will not regret saying that. Also, for the "big words" comment, I figured you'd be able to spot sarcasm... or to figure out I was patronizing you. That obviously didn't help the argument. I only take this personally because you insisted on making it personal by bringing up past arguments. The whole "Appleb****" thing was really beyond stupid. I thought it was a pretty unclever joke so I didn't bother taking this very seriously. Honestly, I did forget about that argument because I figured your comment to my post wasn't personal since your absense from the site at that point was the reason why you singled it out and left an insulting remark. I never bother to talk s*** or refer to people by name-calling because, well, after 5th grade it's just sad. And there is no corner to be backed into. You really shouldn't assume people will be intimidated by you. Every comment made here isn't made to be bent to your support, mine or anyone else's. If you don't understand an argument, don't assume you're winning. This isn't a competition. This isn't a battle. This is me telling you "communist faggot" is offensive. I can be as hypocritical as anyone else and I can admit it, but I don't take passive comments to side with me. Dest: You're my favorite something... Canto? I don't know anymore... Froggy: Ew... I think you've had enough of porn cliches. @cheeze: I'd have read that sooner but you know... I broke my computer. I'm more used to ignoring possibly offensive comments from you since you've made them since the day I got onto MMOT. Sometimes I don't quite understand what you say because I don't know things like "MJ" means "Milk Jugs." This was an inane argument. It was immature, but I was offended. Others may not understand, but with a cultural background complicated by "communism" I am well offended that it was used so lightly and in an irrelevant context.

First let me say that I'm glad we're back to a calm discussion. Lets try to keep it that way. I'm glad we can agree on your first reply. But since you thought that my first post was serious, I'm going to pretend it never happened. This reply is much better in light of my original posts' intentions. Next time, I'll check to make sure the exaggeration and sarcasm is obvious, but hey, you can't please everyone. It's like how some people find 4chan humor to be great, but others find it sick and twisted. I directed attention to the fact that I create conflict without really intending to, which in this case is exactly what happened. I hadn't planned on a debate taking place, but well, here it is. As for the offensive nature of those two words, that is completely dependent on individual interpretation. We're all products of our environment, and your morals that you developed tell you that those words are offensive. I can't tell you that your morals are wrong, but I can tell you that them not being wrong doesn't immediately make them right, either. You find those words offensive even in a humorous sense, but that doesn't mean that others need to follow your morality. I have a gay friend who yells "and the fag wins!" every time he beats me on DDR at the arcade. I have two other gay friends who use "faggot" as an insult. I had an American History teacher who called anyone he didn't like a commie, most people found it hillarious. Obviously me and you, from our own collective experiences, have a different view on the use of those words. Yes, they can be offensive. But only when used offensively, and depending on the person using it and the person on the recieving end. Well this sucks. I don't get your sarcasm, and you don't get mine. It's like we're destined to misinterpret each other for the rest of our lives ._. When I said that you made it personal, I was saying that you did so from your very first post. You wouldn't have bothered to "correct" me if you hadn't taken a personal dislike to the contents of my post. And again we have different interperetations. I didn't think that it was an insulting nickname, but this is coming from someone whose father calls her "cut-throat b****". It doesn't bother me much because I know he's just exaggerating. Namecalling and nicknames are different. In the post when I called you that, however, I did mean to be offensive at the time, so I'll apologize for that. But otherwise, it's just a silly nickname. Sorry if I misunderstood, but the manners in which you argued in your last few posts made it seem like you were running away from the debate. Ad hominem is always interpreted as such. If you hadn't launched into a vicious mayhem like that, I wouldn't have thought that way. This wasn't a competition nor a battle, it was a debate. And it was me telling you "communist faggot" isn't offensive to everyone in a humorous presentation of it. You didn't do a very good job of explaining to me how you think that those words must, always, in every sense, be offensive no matter what. Your lack of support is what sent this debate in the wrong direction, not my lack of understanding. But I'm glad that you came back so that we can wrap this up. I love debating, but I hate it when no conclusion or middle ground is reached. Leaves me feeling incomplete.

HOLYCRAPVICEWHATHAPPENEDTOYOURKARMAANDWHYAREN'TYOUDEADYET
Well, what do you know, same thing happened to me. Kind of. So that was funny.
I couldn't rent because I had no membership. Only I was way below 16. And there was this huge signboard advertising about the membership card next to the entrance.
Me: I wanna rent this. Cashier: Okay, where's your membership card? Me: ...lolwut? Cashier: And, only people 16 and above can rent. Me: Well, I'm 16 and I wanna sign up for a card. Cashier: O...K... Where's your ID? Me: Didn't bring it. Cashier: GTFO TROLL
Ok, that was responding to Vicelin's original rant.
As for the debate that somehow ensued because of unknown reasons (Iono, alien lasers or love), well. I got one thing to say to the people who didn't like Vicelin's post:
Stop. Taking. This. So. Seriously.
Stop finding offensive words where there is no offense intended. Stop trying to tell her to be "politically correct" and diplomatic all the time on the internet. Stop assuming that she's trying to intimidate people. Stop being so goddarned serious in a website where pretty much nobody is serious. And last of all, stop thinking that "commie faggot" is a hugely offensive legendary epic spearhead impaling blow, because it's just four syllables with no hurting intent behind them in this context where most of the rant is sarcastic, facetious exaggeration.
And now.... for the popcorn.
