Just to put a little fun fact out there, I've been working in customer service for the last five years. Which is hillarious, because I'm the last person most people expect to see being polite and humble on the phone or at the desk. Ok fun fact over.
I'm not wrong because you proved my initial point correct: You're childish.
Your "sarcasm" was poorly placed and there's no talking yourself out of an ignorant comment, serious or not. "Appleb****" is really clever an mature. I love how kids take to swearing when they can't dispute like the big people! Aww, so much anger! CUTE!
I guess you haven't noticed, I've reffered to you as "Appleb****" ever since we first met (well, argued). It's just a silly nickname I gave you after our first encounter, and really has no place in this discussion. Sorry to be the "big bad meanie playground bully", but you have no say in what nickname I give you.
And I don't need to talk myself out of an ignorant comment, because I haven't made one yet. The original post contains no ignorant comments because it is sarcasm, sarcasm is meant to not be taken seirously, so since the "ignorant comments" made in that post were not meant to be taken seriously, they hold no controversial value, thus there is absolutely no reason to argue over them.
I also like how you call me a "kid" for my use of swear words. Sorry that the environment I was brought up in happened to be a bit more vulgar than yours, and those mean nasty words don't really hold as much weight for me as they do for others. They have become a casual presence in my every-day vocabulary and it is not a habbit easily broken. I can understand your argument if I had said something like "LOL APPLEb**** f**kING CUNT WHORE SLUT YOU ARE WROOOONG STUPID b**** K LET ME EXPLAIN WHY NOW---" but that obviously isn't the case here.
First of all, I would like to point out that you are in the
rant forum.
The definition from dictionary.com says:
Rant: To speak or write in a angry or violent manner; rave.
v.tr. To utter or express with violence or extravagance: a dictator who ranted his vitriol onto a captive audience.
n. 1. Violent or extravagant speech or writing.
And as Tarheel put it, "bring out your soapbox and get ready to stand on it."
The only purpose of this forum is to go completely irate and vent in a manner which releases the anger of the one posting in whatever form they please. Because I tend to do this a lot, it was me who brought the idea to Tarheel to begin with, so that I could rant and rave and be as angry as I wanted "in a contained area to prevent innocent bystandards", as I explained to him.
If you can't take the heat, don't jump into the fire. A rant can be about something small yet extremely annoying to the poster, or a very sensitive subject that the poster has a strong opinion on. Rants are meant to be vile, uncarring, and are by all means allowed to incorporate sarcasm or humor for an added flair. But one of the most important features of a rant is pretty obvious: the ranter does not want input. The rant is not meant for debate. The rant is a one-way outlet, no input necessary.
And as for your idea that I "don't have the personality to pull it off", explain the several other posters who understood my intentions and left positive comments? As a wise bumper sticker once told me, "don't believe everything you think". To several others, my motives were as clear as day. I'm not going to change the way I vent my anger simply because you didn't get the memo.
And as for me being hard-headed, I can apply the very same to you. I said it once and I'll say it again, the reason we clash so much is because we are so similar, like a negative magnet pushing away from another negative magnet.
...A majority of the rants ever spewed are about the most inane things normal people wouldn't waste time to consider because...they are intended as humor! Who would have known? So in your eyes, even the great Maddox is a childish, hard-headed moron? (DC isn't my slice of pie, anywho).
Er.
ALL rental services have always required memberships.
Nice that you assumed the same thing. Moving on.
I'm confused? Onward...
I didn't blow up on her. I actually handled the situation quite calmly until I realized that she was purposefully snubbing me off just to be a douche. It was right after she placed my DVDs in the "return to shelf" box and looked at me like the conversation was over at her discretion that I threw the sweedish fish past her head ;D
The words "affirmative action" come to mind when I read this. Absolutely no instance where I can get away with calling someone a "communist faggot"? Not with sarcasm, nor a joke, nor other humorous intention? Who are
you to decide that? Where is it written in stone that those two words may by no means be laughed at?
Political correctness, to say it honestly, is utter bulls***. Conforming to political correctness just to avoid being "rude" or "hurting someones feelings" is ridiculous. Sometimes people need to get their feelings hurt. It's called getting over it, and growing up, and learning that it's not the word thats the problem, but the motive or intent behind it when used.
Props to Urban Dictionary, since they have the best explanations for political correctness:
Political correctness is a humor-killer, it's no wonder why my rants don't seem funny to you
