Just to try to improve how I write my fight scenes Two men were fighting in the empty streets of an unknown town, wielding longswords each. Now, it was a brief fight, lasting less than ten seconds. The larger, more muscular man wore a leather tunic with matching leggings. His face resembled that of a wild bear, contorted with rage and a hint of drunkeness. The slightly smaller man wore a gamberson wrapped in maille and cotton leggings, a bruise on his left cheek where the larger man had struck him. The smaller man threw his sword forward and stepped in to bring the point into his adversary's face. In a quick, savage motion, the large man struck the sword with the edge in an uppercut, then took a step forward as he swung the sword at his opponent, who skipped back half a step, bringing his blade up. Sparks flew, and the larger man's sword was trapped on the smaller man's crossguard. In a swift, fluid motion, he stepped in and held his blade like he would a spear, chainmail ringing as he surged forward. Even as the larger man pulled his sword away from the crossguard, steel sunk into his left eye, and sprouted from the back of his head with a short spray of blood. He was dead before he hit the ground.
