Since I'm soooo 1337. I used my brothers idea and turned it into a crappy story! Enjoy!
The Gift
You have a gift. You must help and heal the sick....Never forget that son.
The boy sat up. "Was all that just a dream?" he thought out loud. He turned over to his side. His legs flew off the side of the bed, his body soon followed. Hitting the floor with a thud, the boy scrambled to his feet. "Oh yeah, I'm not at home." He whispered, trying not to wake the lump laying were the boy used to be. He placed his hands onto the body and began pushing. "Would you like some fries with that?" mumbled the lump, still in his sleep. Finally the body began to roll. The boy sat on the side of the bed. "I'm not alone. Someone else is up." He thought. He tried to remember the names of his roommates, but they just wouldn't come to his head. He reached down placed his hand on the brown maple-wood floor. He searched blindly on till his hand hit the jackpot. His Wand. He grabbed it and waited. A dim light grew from the tip of the wand, shining just enough for him to see. the light splashed across his face. Revealing his features. Short brown hair and wide eyes with blue in the center. His skin was the color of caramel. The boy squinted, the light shone on another figure aswell. It was hard to see the details but he knew it was another male. "Good move Corus." said the figure quietly "I didn't think you knew I was up." Corus stood up slowly "I guess I don't need to tell you my name now huh?" he replied. The figure stepped closer, Corus stared the boys red eyes burned into his skin. "I'm Rod-Ayel, but everyone calls me Rod." Said the figure. Corus studied Rod's figure, short red hair, eyes as red as lava and skin as beige as sand. Corus remembered he was studying to be a thief. "So, what are you doing up?" He asked. Rods eyes lit up and then he chuckled. "Thieves are best at night. Everyone is up now." He glanced out the window. Corus was amazed, there must of been thousands of shadows moving outside. Sitting on dorm house tops. Hanging in the trees. Everywhere. "Dang" he said. "This happens every night?" Rod nodded, "It's the only way we can be one with the night." He slowly opened the window. "You should head off to bed. We've got classes in the morning" And with that, he jumped out. Corus watched him leap into the trees and then disappear. Corus turned towards the bed. "If that's Rod then this must be...Markas" he thought. There was a small gap for him to lay on. The cushion felt so soft against his skin. "I really am tired. I'll sleep for a while." He placed his head on his pillow, "Can't wait for class tomorrow....Can't wait.."
"DUDE! WAKE UP! YOU'RE GONNA BE LATE!"
Corus shut his eyes tighter. Can't they just let him sleep? He heard footsteps head into the bathroom. "He still isn't up?" said a voice. Corus knew who it was. Rod-Ayel. "HE'S GONNA MAKE US LATE!" cried another boy. Must be Markas. Corus sat up. "Stop yelling, I'm up." He swung his legs over. "COME ON! WE GOT LIKE 15 MINUTES!" Markas yelled. Corus, being the smart boy he was, already had his clothes on. "Let's go" He said.
The three boys headed downstairs. A whole bunch of kids were already there. An older boy walked up to them. "Grade F kids?" He asked studying them one-by-one. The three of them nodded. "Good, keep going down that hallway. You'd better hurry they're starting the welcoming." The older male said pointing down a long hallway. "Jesus, I told you we were gonna be late." Markas glanced at Corus. "Just walk." Rod pushed them both down the hall.
They came to a wide opening. Thousands of kids were already sitting. Rod, Markas and Corus sat down on some nearby seats. A woman walked up onto a huge stage at the front. She looked at her audience and then cupped her hands. "WELCOME TO Janice's Pension of Advanced Combat And Healing! I'm Janice, your head master." she paused, seeing that every kid was covering their ears. "Sorry everyone! Used a little bit of magic there." She laughed putting her hands to her sides. Many kids sighed with relief. "Anyway, I'm your head master, Janice. Welcome to my school." She paused again, looking at a group of talking girls. "Here" she continued. "You will be learning how to attack. And aswell as defend and aid." She summoned a huge axe into her hands. "You, aswell as your roomies will be the best of friends. And team mates for most of the year. But there will be a time where your paths may separate." She paused, glancing at Corus. Corus stared back. Wondering what she meant by that. "We have already prepared your breakfast. After that, we'll all play a little game..." And with that Janice disappeared. All the kids remained sitting. Not sure what just happened. Finally a boy stood up. "Well you heard the lady! LET'S EAT!" He pumped his fist in the air. Kids cheered and stood up to race to the dining hall. Markas cheered and raced out with them. Corus was about to run with him. But in the corner of his eye he could see a figure slipping into the shadows. Rod-Ayel. "Where are you going?" Corus thought. "Are ya comin'?" Markas was waiting for him. "Yeah" Corus glanced back one more time. Then ran after him.
The table in the dining hall was huge. Nothing like Corus had seen before. Steaming hot pancakes, Boiled eggs. Waffles. Everything a boy could asked for was there. Corus sat down beside Markas. He glanced around the table. There was a boy trying to freeze his food to cool it down. There was a girl who burnt another boys food to a crisp. Markas filled his plate and help Corus with his. The boys dug in. "Man. Thush ish the best food evar." Markas attempted to speak losing half the food in his mouth. Corus was about to agree when a loud roar erupted through the hall. All the kids turned towards a door. The roaring got louder. Kids reached for their weapons. Whatever it was. It wasn't friendly. The door, or the wall broke open. Two tall Brown Yetis busted in. The hall was soon filled with panic.
The Yetis stormed towards the table. Corus grabbed his wand and stood. "Is this the game? Janice must be crazy!" He began firing energy bolts. They hit a Yeti, but had no effect. It turned around enraged. And charged towards Corus. Corus braced him self for what must be his death. Everyone knows Yetis are very dangerous around people and could tear you to bits if you weren't careful. Suddenly a figure stood if front on him. Janice! She had her sword drawn. And had a serious face..."Like this wasn't supposed to happen" Corus thought. The Yeti rammed into her. Sending her flying into the air. She landed with a thud in the corner of the room. The Yeti was dazed after hitting her so hard. Corus took that as his chance and chased over to Janice. She lay in a heap. "Janice! Are you hurt?" Corus asked her scanning her body just to make sure. "My leg..." She glanced down to her right leg, and tried to move it. Causing her to scream with pain. Corus rested his hands on her leg. "This is what Father was talking about. This is my time to help and heal!" His hands glowed a steady light of green. Janice's eyes opened wide. "He's healing me. He's actually healing me" she thought. Corus lifted his hands off her leg. "There's something I have to tell you, I can't heal everything. I...I can only take the pain away." He said staring deeply into her eyes. "The Healing hands sickness..." Janice replied glancing back at her leg. The pain was gone. But the injury was still there. A grin slowly spread across her face.
Markas was in trouble. If he was gonna die here and now. He would die with something good in his stomach. But he had a serious decision before him. Should he die with the gold-colored waffles with whipped cream spun into a swirl on the top in his stomach. Well, that would make him feel warm inside. But then there's the strawberry ice cream with peach slices tumbling over it. That would make him rather cold, but he would enjoy that a little bit longer. "Man, having food sucks!" Markas's hands moved from platter to platter. Time was running out for him. He took to long, he was dead. A Yeti noticed him standing there, staring hard at the food. It moved in for the kill.
Rod-Ayel had his stars drawn since the very beginning. The only problem was that they weren't very strong. They were little stars that the Dark Lord had given him. And the last thing he wanted to do was show weakness. He stood against the wall. Waiting for an opportunity...
That's when he saw it. A Yeti rushing towards Markas. If he didn't act now, Markas would have to suffer. He jumped into the air, pushed off the wall, and flew towards the Yeti. He reared his hand back, and waited for a shot.
Corus moved away from Janice, who had leaned against the wall. Watching in awe as her students battled the beasts. Corus ran back into the battlefield, healing some other students along the way. He was in the middle of helping a girl when Rod-Ayel flew over him. Charging towards the Yeti. It turned and sensed him early. Corus watched in horror as Rod was smacked out of the air as if he was a fly on the wall.
He closed his eyes. Not wanting to hear him land. There was a sickening crack! Corus opened his eyes. Rod lay there. Motion-less. "Was he dead?"
Janice stood up slowly. Leaning on her sword for support. "This ends now." she thought. She closed her eyes and began chanting a spell she had learnt a while back. After a moment she snapped her eyes open "Blizzard!" She shouted raising one arm in the air. The room began to freeze. Ice hung from the roof. They dropped down onto the Yetis. A blood-curdling roar was heard and then two loud thuds.
Markas grabbed the waffles and began munching on them. Not knowing he was about to die. It got cold suddenly, Markas shivered and kept eating. He was about to take another bite when he heard Corus screaming. He turned and saw Corus run to a body. "Rod!" He was shouting.
"Damn!" Markas lowered the waffle and went to go help.
Corus stood over Rod-Ayel and began healing. He knew he could only take the pain away but, if Rod wasn't dead, maybe he could tell them what hurts. Markas appeared beside him, his eyes were filled with sorrow. "I don't think Rod's coming back man." He said trying not to leave a hint of sadness. "NO! He will come back. He will." Corus felt his eyes fill with tears. His mana was draining. It was only a matter of time before he has to stop healing....Leaving Rod to fight for himself. Janice limped up to the group. "M-Move" she said brushing past Corus. She raised her hands. A white light shone from her palms The light jumped onto Rod-Ayel. By now all the students were watching. "This is what you will be learning here. Today you all showed a lot of bravery. Sadly you ALL failed the game." By now she was grinning. Corus gasped "You planned this all!" Janice's grin grew bigger. Corus wasn't finished. "You faked your injury! You set those Yetis free AND took them down when we couldn't! And what about Rod-Ayel! He's hanging on for his life now! Because of you, thousands of us were in danger! What kind of Headmaster are you?" Corus felt more tears coming up. He let them fall. The last remark made Janice wince "None of you were killed right? Rod-Ayel will not die! I've already healed him. Look around! Even the people who got hit are fine now! I've healed them, and I've been healing each and everyone of you since the start." And with a swish of her cloak she began walking toward the door. "Get to class." She called back. Corus watched as the kids began to scatter. She was right. No one was hurt. He shouldn't of said anything. "Ha ha nice one" said a voice. Corus turned around. It was Rod-Ayel, he was laughing at him. "Janice talked to me before we ate. I was supposed to get hit. Just for more action." He laughed again. Markas smiled. "Oh man nice!" Then he started to laugh. Corus stared at Rod-Ayel, who was still laughing. Laughing at him. Suddenly Corus was mad. Mad at Rod for mocking him. Mad at Janice for lying. And mad at himself for believing it. He gripped his wand tight. No one was getting out of this one. He casted an Energy Bolt and fired it at Rod-Ayel. "Wha-" Was all Rod had time to say before it hit him. Rod-Ayel smacked the wall with such force, it winded him. Coughing for air, he stood up. When he caught his breath. He took out three stars. "So that's how it is eh?" He felt his rage swell within him. "Guys it's not worth-" Markas was cut off by the school bell. "Looks like we're missing first period, Corus." Rod was smiling. "I guess so." Corus was smiling as well.
Rod made the first move. Rushing towards him at a fast speed. Firing one star at his defense. Corus dodged the star. "Too ea-" He was cut off by Rod giving him a good upper-cut in the chin. Corus stumbled back. Rod punched Corus again, except this time in was in the stomach. "Oof!" Corus exclaimed. Rod jumped back and prepared to fire another star. Corus took the pain out of his chest. Just so he can breath a little easier. After a moment Rod was back on the offensive, he fired another star at Corus. "Not this time" Corus jumped back and prepared a energy bolt. But instead a yellow circle appeared below him. Rod jerked to a stop. Corus felt a surge of power go through him. "Magic Claw!" he cried, pointing his wand at Rod. Two blue scratch marks appeared in front of him. They slashed away at Rods chest. He fell backwards his back hitting the floor. "Urk!" He cried the wind being knocked from his body. "Not bad Corus" Rod stood up and whipped the corner of his mouth. Corus smiled "You too." Suddenly his eyes opened wide. He checked his arm. Sure enough he saw a subi throwing star sticking out. Corus felt a warm sticky liquid going down his arm. Blood. "How did you..?" Rod laughed "After years of practice I finally got the ricochet technique down." Corus took the pain away from his arm. But that brought back the pain in his stomach,He winced as he let his blood drip onto the floor. Suddenly Corus made his move. "Magic Claw!" He cried. The claws appeared again. Rod smiled and a yellow circle appeared below him.Rod jumped back and a black orb grew on his hand "Shadows of the deep. Lend me your powers to defeat my foes!" He chanted, the orb responded by growing spikes. Corus panicked, that stopped his spell in it's tracks. "Avenger!" Rod threw the black orb at Corus. Corus opened his mouth to scream but no voice came out. The orb flew at him at a high speed.
"Corus move!"
"You're finished"
"Corus! Corus!"
"To help and heal the sick. A Priest. My gift."
"Corus! Move!"
Time seemed to go in slow motion. Corus stared at the orb. It was too late to roll out the way. "My gift." Corus smiled. The orb hit him in the face.
Corus awoke in a hospital. Janice, his parents and Markas were around him. "Corus..." Janice smiled sweetly at him. "You got hit pretty bad buddy. What the hell were you thinking?" Markas frowned but couldn't hold his smile on his lips back. Corus's mother turned to his father. Corus looked at the people in front of him. "We had a good run guys." He said looking everyone in the eyes one by one. "Yes we did. Short though" Janice nodded feeling tears come to her eyes. "Yeah. At least we weren't late for the welcoming" Markas whipped his eye. "Just something there" was his excuse. The doctor came in "I see you already know you're dying Corus?" Corus looked at him "Yeah, I can feel it." His Mother turned away from him "Let's give him some rest before...." And she left the room, everyone else followed. Except for someone sitting on a stool in the corner. Corus didn't notice him before. The boy looked up. Rod-Ayel. They both smiled at each other. "No hard feelings?" Corus asked. "None what so ever" Rod grinned. "Cool. See ya later." Corus closed his eyes. Rod turned to leave. "Corus?" He turned back. Corus opened his eyes.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks."
"Anytime."
Corus closed his eyes again "Anytime..." Rod turned and left. "My gift.My purpose. A Priest." Crous's body glew white. White feathers surrounded him. "My gift."
"There was a flash and Corus was gone...."
"Okay that's it. That's how it ended." A elderly man stood up. "C'mon Grandpa that's not what really happened is it?" a young boy asked. "It is. He's a bright star now." The man looked out the window. Scanning the stars. "But Markas that's short and boring!" The young boy cried. Markas didn't hear, he was staring at a star, the brightest one in the sky. "Corus..." said Markas still gazing at the star. As if in response the light shined a little brighter.

Markas frowned but couldn't hold his smile on his lips back.
