Hehe. Kicking off the Rant forum. I might be the only person to ever post in here, but whatever xD
I'm quitting my job of three years because all of a sudden the nicest boss I've ever had has turned into a gigantic prick overnight.
For the past few months, he has been bringing in his 11-year-old daugher to work. She's obnoxious, screws up orders, can't do basic tasks, and drives everyone out of their freaking mind. But she was only a last resort for if someone called out and no replacement could be found, so we dealt with it.
But yesterday I took a look at next weeks schedule to see that she was listed there with everyone else, and WAS GETTING MORE HOURS THAN THREE OTHER PEOPLE, those three other people being employees who have been BEGGING for hours recently.
So while working with his daughter that day, I asked her a question which a sensible, smart person knows not to answer, but hey, she IS eleven years old--- I asked, "how much do you get paid?"
She tells me that he pays her $3 an hour and recieves that pay every TWO months.
After hearing this I came to the following conclusions:
-He's working HER now instead of the REAL employees because it's cheap labor.
-He has to be paying her under the table, which means she doesn't pay any taxes or social security, nothing.
-He has the balls to think that the rest of us will just stand by and watch as his little princess steals our hours.
Today, me and two other assistant managers confronted him about this in the nicest way possible. We simply told him that we were concerned about her place on the schedule because he had said he was cutting back on hours, yet now this 11-year-old has more hours than three other people.
And naturally like any father, he gets defensive and settles the matter right there: "Because she's my daughter, and it's my buisness."
There are plenty of things I wanted to say to him right then, if I knew I wouldn't have been fired on the spot. That firstly, I don't give a s*** even if his daughter was the f**king messiah, and IN A WORKPLACE, neither should he. Secondly, It's NOT his buisness. He owns a franchise, but what would happen if I took this information to corporate? I'm sure it might bother them that an incompetent 11-year-old is employed in one of their branches. Thirdly, it doesn't matter what the f**k he thinks, if he assumes that none of us are going to alert the labor board about this, he's got a screw loose. And once the labor board is involved, nothing he says will matter.
I've already called the company's corporate office, but of course since it was after hours, I had to leave a message. I ran to the local book store and turned in my application I was planning on giving to them three months later, but the time has called for a job change. Tomorrow evening I'll be calling the labor board.

What bills does a freaking 11 YEAR OLD have to pay? Does SHE have car payments? Tuition bills? Gas bills? A credit card to pay off?
No, no, no, no and FACKING NO!
God, I just want to kill this kid. She's ruined one of the best jobs I've ever had. Why must murder be illegal?
