Paladin vs Dark Knight PvP.
And Giant vs Elf PvP. Humans can partake in this PvP by going to either Vales or Filia and talking to the leader, Krug or Castanea, with the keyword Elf and Giant. Once you join a side, you gain the option for PvP in options.
Same applies to the Pally vs DK. Once you gain a transformation, you can turn the option on or off. Note that if you transform, you don't change that option.
There's also three arenas where PvP takes place. Alby Arena is a plain free-for-all battle. Rabbie Arena is a Paladin vs Dark Knight arena where you can transform every in-game hour. Connus Arean is a red team vs blue team thing.

RuneScape doesn't have a good storyline... >.> Mabinogi isn't as, shall I say, "medieval" as RunEscape. The music is rather unique in that... Well, if you heard it, you'll know what I'm talking about. (I'm not saying its bad too. >_>) RuneScape's music pales in comparison to Mabinogi's music Now, the community. If you're dead anywhere with people, unless you're in PvP, you'll be revived. I have a TON of friends just from playing in the arena, reviving stuff, helping someone, etc. The hackers are only botters who farm on low level monsters due to the AI of the higher level monsters. Poor them. The storyline is interesting along with the quests you have to do with it. Its hard to explain unless you see it yourself. The gameplay is what it is all about though. There are many combos with magic skills and combat skills. I don't believe you see that with RunEscape. All in all, this game is much more... Should I say, lively than RuneScape. RuneScape is bland with its repeated colors. If you saw the Mabinogi pics yet, you'd know that it has MANY colors.

Still not very convincing. The polygons looks like a distorted mess, and that's why I really don't want to try it.
Also, there's no point starting over with high level'd chars on other games. ^^'
Sounds pretty good, but eh, probably not worth the effort, too much stuff to do anyway.
G/L getting other people to join though. =)

Would Ranger/Mage be a good combo?

A good combo has to be either warrior with archer or warrior with mage. Why? Well most enemies in this game contain a nifty little feature, called PD, Passive Defense. Here's what could happen.
Heavy Stander (Melee)
Level 1: 10% chance of the enemy taking reduced damage and counter attacks. Level 2: 10%-60% chance of the enemy taking reduced damage and counter attacks. Level 3: 100% chance of the enemy taking 1 damage and counter attacks
Mana Refractor (Magic)
Level 1: The enemy won't be knocked back from icebolt or lightning bolt. They will still flinch. Level 2: The enemy won't flinch from icebolt or lightning bolt and take reduced damage. Level 3: The enemy won't flinch from icebolt or lightning bolt and receive little to no damage. Enemy will still be knocked back from firebolt but recieve little to no damage.
Natural Shield (Ranged)
Level 1- The enemy is harder to knock down. No damage is reduced. Level 2- The enemy is unable to be knocked down. Damage is reduced 10%-70%. Level 3- The enemy is unable to be knocked down. Damage is reduced 100%.
But hybrid is good in this game. Hybrid is good. Also you don't need a wand to use magic.

Er, sorta. Depends on the enemy you fight. Like Golems and Ogres. Ranged Attack and Icebolt have little to no effect on them.
Oh, when learning magic, instead of buying the book and reading it, save yourself some dough and spend only 4k taking lessons in School rather than spend 4.5k on a book for firebolt, 8k for a book on icebolt, and close to 10k for a book on lightning bolt. It's good to spends 10k for Healing though.
